I started taking yoga in 1994 as a way to help my performance in running and weight lifting. Little did I know that it was helping me to be a better person in life. I was taking an early morning class at Gold's gym, when the teacher told me that she was moving and felt that I needed to take over the class. I had never thought about becoming a teacher, but the seed was planted. I took my 200 hr training in 2006 and started teaching at Golds in the evenings and on the weekends, but by day I was a Nurse and Cardiac Sonographer at Lake Norman Cardiology. I believe in both the eastern and western approach to healing your physical health, mind and spirit. I love what yoga has done to help me, and I love sharing that with others. Yoga is more than a series of postures, its a way to living life.
I graduated from Edmund Morgan Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in November 2005. I recently received my 200hr yoga teacher training, and I am also a certified PiYo and Barre instructor. I am honored to be a part of this yoga studio as a teacher and massage therapist.
I started practicing yoga in 2005, and fell in love! Even though my balance was horrible and I could barely touch my toes, I kept coming back each week. I was NEVER an “athletic” person, but wanted to stay active. Yoga is very forgiving and always welcomes you back with open arms. I completed my 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and also became certified as a Barre Instructor. I love being around people and sharing all the wonderful benefits that yoga can bring into a person’s life. I live in Mooresville with my husband Doug and our fur baby. Blessings & Peace Out 😉
I became a yoga devotee after a diagnosis of cancer. Yoga lessened the anxiety I was going through at the time. After a good outcome, I decided to pursue a teacher training course to deepen my practice. During this course, I was introduced to yin yoga and knew that this was what I wanted to teach.
I have my 200 E-RYT degree together with Yin Yoga, Level 1 and 2
I love how yoga is such a wonderful expression of mind, body and breath movement. Growing up with music and dance my whole life, I was so excited to discover yoga after college as another expression of movement.
The best decision was to enroll and graduate the 200-hour yoga teacher training with the Om Factory in May 2019.
Grew up in Orlando, Florida. Graduated from UCF in 1995.
Married my high school sweetheart in 1996 and we have 3 lovely children. Love to spend time with my family and friends off my mat.
I’ve always known the importance of exercise, but it wasn’t until I was at a mental health conference in 2011 that I experienced yoga. I work with people on their mindsets, many of which are rigid, stuck, painful, etc and realize these same things happen in our bodies and that combining therapy and yoga it leads to so much happiness, ease and balance that we all so desperately need and this lead me to get my RYT 200 in 2019. I enjoy teaching a vigorous practice as well as deep stretch. I look forward to sharing my love of yoga with others.
After attending my first yoga class in 2008, I had a deep feeling that yoga would become an integral part of my life. Quickly, I became hooked on how yoga made me feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. Early on, in my yogic journey, I knew that I wanted to share these ancient knowings with others. Having been an elementary education teacher, I already had a passion for teaching. In April 2010, I received my 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification at Joyful Yoga, in Bonita Springs, Florida. In September 2014 my husband's job brought us to Mooresville. My mission is to spread love and peace.
I have been teaching Yoga in the Lake Norman area for about 20 years. I received my RYT200 from the Bodhi School of Yoga, here in Charlotte for the training but based in New York. I also have my 500 hours.
I have opened a yoga school and will begin classes September 2023 here at Your Karma.
I began my yoga practice in 2014 as a way to maintain health after pregnancy. I immediately loved the practice of yoga, and quickly came to appreciate the benefits that came with a regular practice. I received my 200 hr RYT and am currently working on my 500 hr. Outside of yoga, I love spending time with my husband, children and our furbabies.
Shanti is our community cat. She came to us after one of our yogis rescued her and needed help. She was in dire straits only weighing 4 pounds as a one year old cat. Having no information about her, but suspecting she was more feral than stray she is doing well. We do ask that you not touch or pet her as it can be over-stimulating for her right now. She is fully vetted, and loves following people and watching students take class through the glass doors. We are so happy that she can feel safe and cared for.
Along with teaching and running my yoga teacher training at Your Karma, I am also helping Shelly at the front desk.
I started working at Your Karma a few years after the studio opened. I love the energy and vibe of the studio. I love to practice yoga to offset my boot camp workouts. When I'm not at the studio you will find me at home, cooking or working in the yard spending time with my husband and two beautiful boys.
My life has changed so much in the last year. I spent much of my time here for the last 10 years teaching, working the front desk and running the studio. But life changes and I am grateful for my staff, and friends for helping with the studio so I can spend time with my husband.
