My love of yoga began very quietly. I started in 1994 at a local gym, so the aesthetics were not of a yoga studio. I was a runner and thought that yoga would help my injuries.I was hooked after my first class. In 2013, I left my job as a cardiac nurse / cardiac sonographer and opened Your Karma - Your Yoga & Massage Experience!
I graduated from Edmund Morgan Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in November 2005. I recently received my 200hr yoga teacher training, and I am also a certified PiYo and Barre instructor. I am honored to be a part of this yoga studio as a teacher, massage therapist and client services.
From the moment I began teacher training, I realized: the more I learn, the less I know. The science, history, philosophy, and art of yoga runs centuries deep and I’ve just begun to scratch the surface. And although I am now a teacher, I will forever be a student.
My favorite thing to hear as a yoga teacher is “Yoga has changed my…” I fully believe that the journey of yoga takes people further in their lives. Whether it is increased flexibility or strength, more stable balance or freedom in poses, yoga allows people of all ages to become more. Michelangelo’s quote, “I am still learning” is one that I fully embrace.
I became a yoga devotee after a diagnosis of cancer. Yoga lessened the anxiety I was going through at the time. After a good outcome, I decided to pursue a teacher training course to deepen my practice. During this course, I was introduced to yin yoga and knew that this was what I wanted to teach.
I have my 200 E-RYT degree together with Yin Yoga, Level 1 and 2
